My role here at Meadows Park is large and varied, but the most important part of my role is to ensure that the residents that choose to call Meadows Park their home are happy and well looked after at all times.
Caring for residents and helping them to live the best quality of life is my passion. I joined the care sector at the age of 16 as a weekend waitress while completing my final year of school. Being in the environment made me realise the difference care homes can make in resident’s lives. After my first month in the role, I knew this is where my passion lay, and it led me to begin my career in the care sector.
After finishing school with multiple GCSEs, I have continued my education at work and have gained a NVQ level 2 and 3 in Health and Social Care as well as a NVQ level 3 and 5 in Leadership and Management.
We try to make the transition to our care home as smooth as possible by gaining as much information at the pre-admission assessment stage to ensure that we know our new residents before they arrive, this ensures that we provide the best person centred care we can.
Once a new resident has moved in, we like the resident to be involved completely in their care planning here at Meadows Park, to ensure that they feel involved at every stage.
There is no one part of my role that I can say I enjoy most because the whole role gives be huge amounts of job satisfaction, but the one part that really makes my heart sing is walking through Meadows Park listening to the laughter and seeing the happiness on our residents faces.
I spend time with my family in my off hours, enjoying the beautiful Lincolnshire countryside, also socialising with old friends
